Saudi, France Sign Strategic Health, Biotech, and Digital Medicine Deals

PARIS: Saudi Health Minister Fahd bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel met with French health officials in Paris on Friday to bolster healthcare collaboration.

In discussions with French ministers Catherine Vautrin and Yannick Nodder, both sides emphasized forging a strategic partnership in public health, disease prevention, healthcare system development, and emergency preparedness, according to the report.

The talks highlighted Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 health reforms, especially in digital health, biotech, and innovation. 

Officials welcomed progress toward finalizing a major healthcare agreement and witnessed the signing of MoUs between Assistance Publique–Hopitaux de Paris and the Saudi Red Crescent Authority, aimed at boosting research and emergency services.

They also committed to joint action on global health challenges, including antimicrobial resistance, and underscored cooperation with the WHO Academy and the International Agency for Research on Cancer.

Al-Jalajel also met Clara Chappaz, Minister for Artificial and Digital Intelligence, and Laurent Saint-Martin, Minister for Foreign Trade and French Diaspora. 

At the Saudi-French Business Council Forum, he oversaw the signing of strategic deals in digital health, oncology, emergency medicine, and biotechnology.

Both nations pledged to maintain regular dialogue and implement their growing health partnership effectively.
